RENDERING...Q&A and GALLERY

It will be tough to explain briefly but I will try:

When you create a curve through points, in the feature box you will see tangencies; click on it. There you can set the beginning and the end of your curve either normal or tangent to a plane, curve, axis, and/ or edge.

With the same purpose in mind:

When making boundary blen surfaces there is an option for either edge alignment or constraints in your lower feature options normally located at the top of the bar as a tab. There you can setthe surface edges of the newly made surface with other prexisting surfaces or planes.

Here is a basic studio render in a non-reflective room.

Thanx for the tips i will try it out n by the way wat settings do u apply on the light as well as on walls to get this terrific look in the above pics and wat is the trick for placing lightin in correct place

I used the same exact lighting setup that I used in the blue car render. THese renders are just basic really, nothing to reflect and a plain grey room. THe car looks the way it does because of highlights and textures.

this is a question about POV Ray.

When converting the pro e file into a inc file the spl2pov program can't read my colour include file. I created it using the same syntax used in the link given by mark the mech. If someone has a copy of one of these files and yes I have downloaded the file in the link but slp2pov can't open it either.

Cheers

PM me the syntax of your colour file and we'll take a look.

Do you have a colour.map file with all of the correct colours set up as well? The INC file searches for these colours.

Hi All,

CPiotrowski, yeah the feedback you are recieving is well deserved, latest images looking awesome. Im sorry I have not been posting more, not had much time since my first model. I have been doing some tutorials on surfacing, learning the basics etc...so may attempt something basic soon.

Skwasim_smile, models looking good and the rendering is a lot better in my opinion. Just seems like you are using too much lighting, too much brightness and lense flare.

Hi Lee74, good to see a UK person on here apart from me :)... I am a new member also, so welcome and hello. All renders looking good.

Everyone - Thanks for the compliments, the model is from a presentation to a local users group meeting where I had about 4 hours of material & 45 minutes to present

I had started on a multimedia rendering tutorial, but have gotten sidetracked. If there is interest I could revive the tutorial project. There might be a nominal charge to cover production costs. Also, I guess I could post the presentation here if there is interest.

skwasim_smile -Placing decals is tricky when working on assemblies. Be careful to not mix part and assembly appearances. Also, patterned parts (like the key pads don't seem to work too well.

Hiii there

Thanks CP for ur comments it feels gr8 when the person of ur calibre appreciate our work i was longing to hear this from u thanks again

SKWASIM... I just noticed something big on your renders. You dont have your line quality, smoothness or shading turned up. Look at the round edge on the first close-uprender, see how its not a smooth round. Need to go check your model settings. WIll drastically increase the realism of the render. Nice job again!

Awesome guys,

Hi CPiotrowski,

I must say, I'm very impressed with the Mustang, I hope to be able to create something of a similar standard one day.

In the mean time you've inspired me to start utilising PhotoRender a little more. If you could advise on the attached visuals, it would be much appreciated.

These renders look nice for Photorenderer. Maybe add a little more yellow to your lightbulb. I recommend using two lightbulbs and the default distance with Photorenderer. Nice work tho LEE. Keep it up!
