Hi all. Yours pictures of rendered models still have a good quality, resolution after the compression of pictures. I would like to sent my new better rendered model of mustang, but I cant transform Tiff file to Jpeg file, without losing quality of the pictures. This forum can take only 50kB pictures. But it is too small! Please could anybody help me with this?
Thanks in advance.

OK thank you ... I will sent it to you...I would like to sent all of my part of Mustang but it is too big = 12,7MB

.... But I am still working on it ...

I am currently workingon incorporatingHDRI into renders with WILDFIRE. Here is a quick example of how the image reflects. I will post a car image when I get it done.

The above image is my first ever attempt at rendering using photorender.

A question I have is since the model is assembly i can't seem to assign a colour to a surface of a part. Whereas this is possible in the part file but doesn't carry through to the assembly.

One more question is I seem to have a heap of trouble defining lights that don't wash out the model. hence the single spotlight in the above image.

That was done using the basic photorender package, I wish I had the ARX package looking at some of the other images. Awesome work CPiotrowski.

Im New... Im Crap...Im havent got the first idea how to model let alone render...lol but here goes : My first model using pro-e (ever).

This is an image of a door hinge I have used as my starter model in pro-e... I apologise for the dodgy colours... I have a couple of questions.

1. I rendered this using the standard package in wildfire 2.0 When I saved as a TIFF image, and inserted into photoshop for re-sizing, the room was not present ? Why ?

2. I have also learnt how to create datum planes ( difficult for a noob )...now I have learnt the skill of datums, when I created a xsec through the middle of my hinge, when I rendered it always renders the full image. I wanted to show you a section through so you could see my components. Wish me luck, I will try something else

View attachment 1389This was a chrome effect...lol sorry

View attachment 1390This is what happened when I rendered with the standard room effect. in photoshop the room dissapeared but you can still see the reflection in the hinge.

Hope they look ok, I have been using pro-e for a week or so now, I am finding the modelling quite easy, there is nothing in this hinge which is too difficult - it is all extrusions & cuts mainly. I have not started with surfaces yet, they look to complex for me. I will try and create something else soon and post away.

Oh and CPiotrowski....NO LAUGHING

Please be patient, sometimes it takes me a little time to reply to everyones posts. Those are nice ass brakes, I just might have to get them from you to use on the belair

Here is the problem you are having with your color asignments. Activate the assembly and bring up color and appearance. Set the selector to assembly and pick clear. If that doesnt reset your assembly back to default color try to set it to components and clear them individually. You need to get your assembly back to default colors. What is happening is that you have assigned colors into your asembly and those colors are overwriting the colors applied in the part. Assign all your textures and colors in the part and they will update in the assembly as long as the assembly is clear meaning you havent assigned any colors in it.

For lighting, with the ARX upgrade there is raytracing which prevents you from having to use an excessive amount of lights to light a scenery, with photorenderer you will need to use more lights to make up for this. Try to just use high lightbulbs and avoid using distance and spotlights if necessary. With ARX you can adjust the intensity of the lights but with photorender you cannot. Stick with lightbulbs and default distance, dont use ambient, it drowns out the colors. THe only thing missing in this render is clarity. AFter you load the tiff into PS, save for web, that will keep the resolution. If your not hosting to the web and just uploading onto the forum the pics will really never be high quality.

Good work bro, nice model

[-SKINT-]...

That is just fantastic for your first model, very nice work. I am very surprised you can already manage an assembly after a week, you are on your way.

To answer your questions...

The likely reason your room isnt showing in the render is typically because you do have render room selected in the rendering options, check that.

As far as I have seen, sections will not render nor will visibility settings. What you will need to do to show a render of a cross section is a through all cut. Go into the assembly and create a cut where you want it. WHen is sketcher just make a single line, wildfire will recognize this as a through cut, you will need to go into the feature options and select what parts will be intersected by the cut. Once all correct parts are selected you will be able to render it without the cut coming back. Then suppress the cut when finished.

Great work SKINT, keep it up. Im not sure if alot of people saw this but here is my typical render setup for a studio render.

Thanks CP, a reply like that from you gives me more confidence and I appreciate the feedback very much. That was my first model...but make no mistakethere has been quite a few hours work gone into that model just to learn the basics of pro-e hehe, and it wasnt without encountering problems lol. Once I got the understanding of the basics, such as datum planes ( starting to understand them I think ) and the unusual sketcher mode ( coming from autocad I found sketcher very frustrating ) then the rest has just fallen slowly into place. The basic cuts and extrusions are fairly simple, but I have found many problems with compounding radii and curves etc... places where certain radii meet seem to fail a lot... and what tends to happen in Wildfire 2.0 is that old style (2001 i think ) menu`s appear, then I am really stuck.. at that point I just quite and start again.

As for the assembly, like I say the parts are not very complicated, and from a jpeg it is hard for you to see how I comstructed it.... I know that I have done it badly because when I select View/Explode...the parts are a right mess hehe...I need to spend some time assembling parts correctly.

..but yes, I am generally quite pleased with my first model. I downloaded your mustang part, but it scares the hell out of me haha, the surfacing looks incredibly complicated, but I am looking forward to trying it..I need to set myself a project.

Anyways, thank you very much for the compliment, and also for the studio setup...the chrome will be very handy.

Take Care

CPiotrowski,

Sorry one more thing I forgot to ask you.

Could you please reply here, or PM me with an explanation of what you describe as Top-Down modelling, It sounds like you use this a lot.
