RENDERING...Q&A and GALLERY

you mean for this highlight?
good idea, however I have no 2d graphic program to do so in the job

anyway, thanks magne

Hi Maudib,

Agree with Mag, perhaps a nice image on screen would finish the render of nicely. You should be able to grab an image from online, then you can use material setups to attach the image to your surface using map or bump settings.

guys

do not bother with the color from the TV screen(this blue one), this is not important. I would like to find the general setting for lights to achieve such lightning results and shadowing

I have seen the said "artifacts" in past renders with photorenderer myself.Gointo your rendering setup configuration tab, click on override tile size, increase the available memory and decrease the tile width per pass to a number somewhere below 200. This will slow down your render time but should help to eliminate most of the "artifacts"

I did one rendered pic for my TV. See below.

this is not my project, it is already existing device TV LCD 32.

As shown above - with ambient and distant light.
Now, let`s take it as a base and tell me what should I change to achieve better result from rendering. See pics in my previous thread.

thanks in advance

Is this an accurate representation of the actual monitor? It seems like its missing some details, like rounds. Its really hard to help with this kind of render without seeing your setup. What are you using for lighting and in what location?

cylindrical room, default lights, yeap colors are specified by me, I will attach pics later

models are finisched, but not these above, main of them are made as dmu(shrinkwrap) to simplify number of surfaces - all small rounds avoided - but, correct me if I am wrong, to investigate right way of rendering, better geom is not worth to deal with:\

todays attempt, as for me - looks a bit better than previous one

still misses a lot of details like buttons at front face. A better backround - not a lit color - also would make it look better.
But, what You say? - the improvment can be noticed?

Yes, it does look better. I see that you arent using maximum detail settings and you dont have allow textures clicked. Are you not using any textures on this monitor? That will dramatically help in the realism.

well there is not a texture at all, in fact I tried it, but Pro\e render this as black. I tried everything - appearence texture - yes, sharpen texture - yes. I put a texture as decal - no result. I put it as color texture the same. In all steps black color without texture. I do not know why?

I do use maximum set and even put configs You mentioned before - the number for passes. However what I did not use was self shadows. It can be noticed in prevoius pics Pro\e created awful artifacts in the leg of LCD. The cause was hole in it. I prepare new leg and everything works quite fine now. Take a look below.

I know that this blue screen looks awfull:)))

The second picture is done with save directly to tiff and it looks like to have too many lights at all, but sets are the same. Strange for me

Ok, I finally solved problem with texture. The cause were bad settings in color itself. Ok I hope I can count on little private contant here, can I?

If, so - I hope I won`t bored anyone - here it is, TV render with pics on the screen

here are my two greates treasures

CP, how do you do this ,that you attache so big pics here? I made Save as for Your googles pic, and it is more than 400 kb. How it is possible when the limit for upload is <50Kb?

Maudib, CP hosts the images himself on his own server and uses a direct link to the image. That way he can display much higher resolution.

Try using the free web-based hosts such as imageshack and give it a go.

Edit :: Well he used to... it looks like this time he has hosted it using tinypics.com Maudib, you can always see where they are hosted if you right click on the image and go to properties, that will give you the url of the host site.
