Bart
You are right PS is really powerful software, and knowing it just a little is a big advance in person who knows it.
Thanks for guide what is important to know for enchanting rendered images

Im not really sure why he looks sad. Probably because he doesnt have a mouth. Or, maybe because he will never be finished

I gave up rendering in Pro/E, but I admit that render is nice. You should really try image studio and quit messing around with Pro/E rendering. Image studio will read in a Pro/E file, no iges nessesary. And you will get an extra 10 to 15 percent better result with less effort.

Sad because all he does is cleans the house all day when some of his brothers and sisters are fighting crime and destroying buildings etc, he needs a better job

CP... I know it seems like I am always impressed with what you do, but that Glock is superb. It makes a nice change seeing images from you that contain things other than cars. The detail around the trigger is impressive aswell as the grip and I also like the mirror effect showing the reflection behind. Super job mate !!

I am in Farmington Hills outside of Detroit.

Thanks SKINT, much appreciated. Iwould have the next pass done if my computer didnt just shut down last night for no reason

Even this render takes about 6hrs so its not fun to wake up to see results and instead I see a blank desktop.

Hi Everyone

I have seen some really great work on these pages and would like some advice on my images. I knocked this model up yesterday and had a fiddle with the room size and model colours. Could someone please post a color.map or appearance.dmt file that I could use as I don't think my colours are that good. I can post the .prt file if anyone would like to re-render it to show what can be done by someone who knows what they are doing. Thanks to all who have posted infomation on these pages

GOOD NEWS!!!

My new computer is being built as we speak and will be done next week.

I cant wait to start modeling on a screamer!

stevenqneuk- What rendering package do you have? If you are using standard rendering package then its not gonna get much better than what it is now. But, I just noticed a reflection of the balls on the base which leads me to believe that you have the ARX extension. If this is true, you need to create a room to render the model in, try not to use the standard room for reflection. I only use the default room when doing clay renders. I will model this and try to show you a render.

Nice first attempt.

hiiiii CP

I have been away for a long time now but believe as always CP SKINT ur always there in this forum as active as u were before CP wih Glock u again made me believe tht u r simply the best there is none other in the forum of ur callibre keep up the good work guys

bye

Hi CPiotrowski

you're right, I am using the ARX. I have tried many demo rendering packages like 3DS, Maya and even a freebie called Blender, but I could not get the STL or IGES files to import correctly. The ARX seams to produce some very good images, but I suppose the image is only as good as the model its created from. I'll have to have a fiddle with the ARX and, as you say, the room setup and maybe the lighting too. Its a bit of a learning curve but I am sure I'll get there.

Hi All,

Hope everybody is fit and well! It's been a while since I've been on this great thread, but I've been teaching myself ISDX in my lunch breaks etc. Unfortunately, I've not quite finished the manual yet but I have been attempting small examples along the way to try to put into practice what I had been learning. So taking inspiration from one of the many suggestions for the modeling competion e.g. 'Something on your desk' I thought I'd model a pen (original I know!
smiley36.gif
)

I've done a quick render but it needs work though.

Keep up the good work guys.

Hi Steven, I know there are a lot of pages and days worth of reading in this thread, but if you go back to the start of this topic and work your way through you will find many hints and tips along the way. You are lucky to have the ARX to play with.

I have attached a file containing a jpg image of CP`s render settings which may help you or give you guidance.

Hi Lee74, haha good to see you back again, I think it was me who suggested the " something on your desk " topic and I was going to choose the same pen and a holder etc lol... you beat me to it
smiley2.gif

Nice work though m8, looks great.

P.s, where did you get the ISDX manual from, I know I am a million miles away from learning this yet, but getting hold of the manual would be nice
smiley17.gif

Hi Skint,

Cheers pal, still learning, thought that highlighter pen would be a good starting point for using ISDX.

I've gota link to a Wildfire ISDX manual somewhere on my PC, I'll dig it out and send it to you.

Take it easy,

Lee

Hi Skint

Thanks for the info, I'll have a play with the settings a bit later on. I do have one question for you, what is ISDX? I have only been using Pro-E since Aug 05 and so would use Var Sec Sweep and Blend to create the very nicepen that Lee74 has posted. Also, I have had a scout about for some textures that I can use to customize me room setup, the best I found is this link. http://textures.forrest.cz/Does any one have any other tips for where to get useful texture files?

Steven

Hello again mate,

I have only been using pro-e for a couple of months so it is all new to me too
smiley19.gif
, I am on a steady learning curve though and doing OK.

Interactive Surface Design Extension - (ISDX) is basically an extension to the existing modelling options in pro-e. If you are using wildfire like I am, the isdx option is called STYLE. If you have this option available to you ( it is not part of the basic package i dont think ) then you will have an icon underneath the "boundary blend" icon. I am not familiar with it at all, as I am new to pro-e and all these complicated things scare me hehe, im sure many others will give you a better explanation of exactly what it does.

Steven
Nice work for first render
smiley2.gif

As Skint said try to read trough all posts here, there are a lot useful tips, how to setup room, how to create textures, materials etc.
ISDX is module of Pro/E for creating advanced models, it means Interactive Surface Design Extension.
As for textures I got my textures from that the same site, if you want more textures try to create them using Photoshop.

CPiotrowski
Nice to hear that you'll soon have new PC, we hardly wait to see some new render pic from you
smiley2.gif

What configuration you take for PC?

Lee74
Nice realistic render

You have come back with style
