Wildfire 5.0

Yeah thats it mate, the whole new drawing menus are ribbon style taken directly from partnership with microsoft. Im still struggling with Word & Excel after 3 months of using 2007 versions lol.

Sounds good to me...

The following enhancements have been made to Rounds:
<ul>[*]You can create Rounds with curvature continuity along their boundaries.[*]Curvature continuous rounds can be constant or variable.[*]A shape factor adjusts the curvature influence.[*]You can define Constant curvature continuous rounds with different leg lengths on each side.[/list]Sam

I've been playing a little with Wildfire 5.0 preproduction, but one thing puzzles me: is it possible to shift the dashboard to the bottom of the screen?

Also, on my laptop the ribbon interface is a space waster, but on a larger monitor it's not so bad...

You can shift the dashboard... theres a config option somewhere, I had the same with WF4 on first install. Dont have pro-e installed on this new machine yet so cant look it up for you

It used to be in the "option" tab of the "customize screen" dialog box, but it is no more there, maybe is a glitch in my install... I'll try to manually edit the config.win... Also the status bar is on tob, while on WF4 it was on the bottom...

I played with it at PTC... Its like live preview. I think PTC should turn everything to live preview and give experts a mode to turn it on and off. image an expert mode to Pro/E?

Iranian guy upstairs says hi.

I was a little weird-ed out to see the middle button not working (for my workflow) in drawing mode. I have not downloaded the pre production version to see if they fixed that.

I have a x-section that suddenly does not show anymore. I can highlight the hatches and edit them as normal, but they are no longer ordinarily visible, and neither are the internal cut lines. Just looks like a side view. Anyone else encountered this? Any work-arounds? Could this be a bug?

Did anybody find out if the dashboard could be moved to the bottom of the screen? Or are we stuck with it at the top?

It's buggy. I hope they tighten up everything by production release time.

WhenI Edit > Definition a feature and not change anything, the part doesn't automatically regenerate that feature or any subsequent feature. I have to manually regenerate. Not a show stopper but annoying, especially when I forget to do it.

Looks like this choice is related to the introduction of the ribbon interface, which will be extended to the modeling too...

could some one give me a step by step for license Wildfire 5.0 prerelease. I'm tring to get our admin with LM right to plug in a licence for me but he's being a PITA so if i give him a step by step me might play along. It can't be that hard just update the license server.

call tech support. They will walk you thru over the phone... or better yet your VAR will do it. They got nothing else better to do right now being so close to Christmas and all. Plus it will give your VAR time to befriend you.... so they can sell more stuff to your team. or at least you can lead them on as such.

does anyone know how i can get reparametrization work in n-sided surface feature in isdx? i cant add curves to reparam curves list.

I did play with that feature quite a bit during my beta testing at PTC. No G2 with that new tool.

I don't recall the re-parametrization option and I do not have that wf5 loaded yet. But the definition of parametrization has to do with lining the boundaries up appropriately. 3 degree curve lines up to a mating surface that is also 3 degree... or the striation of a surface and how that behaves as if water is running down the surface... like a body builder has striation on the muscle.Refers to uniqueness of one side and how that lines up to another.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parametrization < not a very good definition here either but I think Alias users may define it differently than the new definition from wf5.0 users ... that is a new term for Pro/E users.
